None of them owned rights to the Jackson5 recordings or name. Motown owned that catalog and what they didn't own Joe made sure he had control early on.

that's true, I did see the nbc/cbs 2 night special on them. joe beat the shit out of them. poor kids forced to do that shit and then didnt even see any of the benefits.
