I had Jaunty Jackalope installed and all was well. I just upgraded to Karmic Koala and now I can't get Samba to allow my windoze PC's to connect to any of the USB Hard Drives that are on it. It'll connect to the other ones, just not my USB drives...i'm almost tempted to throw the dam thing out the window.

Is there an update to Samba? Try updating it then reconfiguring the samba server.

 

Windows Server, can't go wrong.

i need to set up a server. my media collection is getting way to big to manage on my regular desktop. i have drives all over the place on my desk.

 

get bigger drives and consolidate? that's what I did. I used to have 10 250gb drives. Now I only have 2 1TB and 2 500GB. Plan on getting some 2TB drives soon.
