But yeah, I usually try to brake as little as possible. Engine braking FTW. I'm always kind of afraid someone behind me isn't going to slow down in time because they didn't see any brake lights and rear end me though.

I definitely try to engine brake as much as possible. Keeps the Evo from stalling out too

I started doing it when I bought the teg. Not so much just to save the life of the brakes but so I don't have to put it back into gear after taking a turn or slowing down for traffic.

It drives me nuts to ride with someone that doesn't coast at all. Just stays on the gas and then hits the brakes.

yeah, I barely use my brakes...but not because I'm a cheapass, that's just how I drive. I downshift and slow down most of the way and then just barely have to use the brakes to come to a complete stop.

yup I do it all the time. Crazy yellow cab drivers step on their break and gas at the same time for no reason all the time.

I dont give a crap about gas mileage and brake pads. it's a damn lease.
