I have a CPA to do my taxes and I check his work before I hand them in. The minute you sign the line at the bottom of the page, you're accepting personal responsibility for errors. All the CPA does is "prepare" the taxes, it's still your responsibility.

Then you're an idiot. You don't have to be a genius to know that money mysteriously evaporating into thin air is a bad thing. Seems to me, Cage just hired the guy and never bothered checking on him in 8 years. No matter who you hire, that's asking for trouble.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no financial wizard, and if i had a busy work schedule and a shit-ton of income like Nick Cage, I'd definitely hire someone too. But I would meet with him and go over his work on the regular.

The main subject is the lawsuit.

You can't sue a doctor because you are in bad health, but you can sue one for malpractice.

All I said is Nick Cage is an idiot. If he'd bothered paying attention, he wouldn't be in this mess. That doesn't mean the financial planner didn't to anything wrong, he basically stole from the guy. Sue away!
