So I'm thinking of picking up the new Motorola Droid from Verizon when it comes out(Rumored Thursday). I have an iPod Touch and love it and wanted to get an iPhone, but then I heard about this phone.
Tell me about Android.
Do you like Android?(Pros and cons)
How is their 'app store'? Prices? Good range of apps?
Any of you come from or gone to an iPod touch or iPhone?

I've heard Android 1.0 or whatever is lacking. This phone will be the first to offer 2.0 for the new few months.

i just picked up the my touch not too long ago. its a pretty sweet phone. only complaint is you hafta get use to the touch screen sensitivity and the on screen keyboard. i also got a itouch and the keypad on that is WAY better. the app store is great. its opensource so a lot of the apps that my itouch has is also available for free in the app store. its a small learning curve that can get annoying at times. he processor does hang up once in a while so it does slow down considerably.. i brought this cuz i didnt want a iphone and itouch so minus well give it a shot.

also, they camera sucks on it so dont expect much from it.
there are apps for custom ringtones that is awesome! u cut any mp3 track u have and it saves it as a ringtone or alarm.

That has alway been my gripe with Verizon. They gimp a LOT of their smartphones. They may have now stopped due to a shit ton of complaints, but all GPS programs were locked so taht you would use VZNav. and the first BB Bold's were downgraded to prior firmwares than what came from the factory.

BS. Verizon is a bunch of liars. I worked for them for almost 5 years. This is a catch somewhere, gauranteed. Remember "any device" promise they made, when unlocked GSM phones were the hotness? They said you could use any CDMA phone on the network. Total and outright lie. Never happened. Now, they "ammeneded" it to mean you can use any wireless router with their broadband service.
