Normal cars, snow tires are a must. I'm not sure with Subarus. I'm attempting this winter with just all seasons. We'll see how far in I get.

 

AWD helps you go, but it doesn't help you stop h:

Thats what I'm worried about. I've talked to a few people with Subies around here that roll with no snows and they say its fine. We'll see what happens. I'm going to watch CL in the mean time though

 

Yeah, I got my snow tires off CL for $120 with probably 80% tread. They should be good for two winters (god forbid I keep the G20 that long).

 

So, any news on that yellow WRX?

 

As David said, it's not just about going forward, you can have 16 wheel drive and still slide Into a pole. I tried winter on all swains once, never again. I'll pony up a couple hundred bucks every few years for the confidence and safety of snow tires.
