Default Babylon v World Language

If the world leaders got together and agreed to use a universal language (all countries would have to learn that language), what would it be?

Me, my guess would either be english or spanish..

Would probably be English as it's already the most common international language of business/politics. North America, most of Europe, about half of Africa, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan all use English to an extent.

:edit: Your poll doesn't have Chinese... pretty big omission h:

Spanish, English would be too hard for everyone to learn and use correctly. (Tark)

Okay, hypothetically, although english is known, english is one of the hardest languages. Chinese has too many dialects. Spanish or french perhaps, although there are a few dialects of spanish too.

the majority of the business world speaks english and those who speak more than one the second tends to be chinese.

if there were to be a world language undoubtbly it would be english or chinese.
