Hey guys.. just wondering if you find it easy to pick up a new language and how long does it usually take to get good enough to carry a conversation?

learn spanish as in be able to comprehend it? no.

learn basis conversational phrases enough to get by in a Mexican tourist city (Cabo, Cancun, etc)? Sure.

 

yeah just need enough to make it in the dominican for a week and get better service... most of the staff on the resort dont speak english well.

 

i can pick up a new language fairly easily. specially spanish... it's close enough to french. 3 days might be a bit hard tight. In cuba everyone that deals with toursits are bi/trilingual. I'm sure the hotel will be able to serve you in english :dunno:

Try banging a bunch of Mexicans. Maybe you can get it like an STD.

I wish I'd've taken Spanish in high school instead of French. I hardly remember any of it and even if I did it wouldn't be reasonably applicable. :hs:

 

i never understood why people would take french in highschool.
