I just know people that read. I would have never read Raymond E Feist, or WWZ if it were not for general people who suggested them.

Also, no one said anything about me finding World War Z in non-fiction.

I read a lot and I hit the book store and look in genres I like then read the back cover of the book to check the subject matter then sit down and read a chapter or two, if it grabs my interest and the writing style is good I buy it and read it.

Likes and dislikes are very subjective to who is reading it. A lot of people go nuts for Stephen King, but I personally think he is an overly descriptive hack. Doesn't make them wrong just means I don't like his writing style so anything by him I avoid like the plague.

hmmm...so basically to "find" a book, for the most part u do it the old school way of literally going to a bookstore and checking random books? would u find book reviews online "helpful" or useful?

No not really. If a lot of people are talking about a story I will look for a summation of the book online sometimes to see if it may interest me, but I am a touch, feel, see kind of person.

I like the experience of a book store I guess.

One of my favorite movies of all time is "Crimson Tide." I haven't read the book yet, but I know I I'm gonna read it soon. I think I've been waiting for a time when I can really relax and plow through it. I bring that up, because I'd be reading the book AFTER watching the movie, and I know I can expect more detail. Maybe find a movie you love, based on a novel, and read that novel. You'll find the familiar comforting, and what was left out of the movie, new and refreshing.

for real? I think 4 was my favorite of all of them. 1 was the slowest read for me...the others I breezed through, I loved them so much.
