Default genesis coupe track event

They had a track event this weekend at the Phoenix International Raceway, they had the 4cyl turbo and the V6 manual both to try out as well as the autos. The event was setup on the PIR drift track and it was a blast. They gave us a chance to do 2 laps total and you could try any of the cars you wanted. So knowing it was only 2 laps I started off with the 4cyl turbo manual. They had one of the track officals in the car with us and the first guy I was with was pretty cool. he had me pull up to the track and said its a 2nd gear course so plant it and see what its got. He pretty much said I dare you to try and get it sideways. The car handled very well, had decent power but understeered a little. I was able to get it to drift a little, but the turbo is meant to be more of a canyon carver. If you were to upgrade the power it could easily go sideways. After my lap the guy was a little impressed and said I'd have to try out the manual V6 for some extra fun.
So I wait for the V6 manual with the track package and had a ton of fun. I'm in 2nd waiting for the first left hand turn and I plant it and start kicking out a ton of smoke and start going sideways. It was a pretty good drift and then it was time correct and start to turn right. I over corrected and spun out, and pissed off the guy in the car I was with.lol I figured I'm going home after this lap anyway so might as well see what the car's got. I found out, and when the lap was over I had a huge grin on my face. I'm seriously considering getting the turbo 4 after I re-fi my condo. The interior was very nice, the handling really impressed me, and the exterior looks great in person.

cliffs:went to a genesis track event, got the car sideways, had fun, want to buy one now.

I was surprised by the fit and finish too, it reminded me a lot like the interior of a Nissan.

They had one of those events near here a few months ago. I thought about going, missed out on the fun.

its only 2 laps, but they were a ton of fun and I'm glad I made the trip to go. where else could I get away with thrashing a car thats not mine, and trying to get it sideways all for free? if any of you have the event coming to your town I highly recommend going. they even gave us a gift for showing up. it was a storage bin for your car and a car shamie. I was able to confirm with one of the Hyuandi marketing people that the spec R turbo 4 will be out this september, and for around $23K. If you compare it to other cars priced roughly the same you can't beat the bang for you buck with this car. If I had the funds now I'd go get it right now and do up the suspension first.

I think Hyundai has made the most strides in terms of Korean car makers.

i still cant stand the front end of the car, but i love the rest of the car... outside and inside. i'd get one in black though... just to make the front end less noticeable h:
