Heard this on NPR this morning and nearly shat bricks. Disney better not fuck this up. Hopefully they will keep Marvel as a separate entity just under the Disney name.

I doubt Disney will ruin it. If anything they'll provide deep pockets.

And provide nothing but carbon copy disney-created teenage "actors" for all future movies.

Disney needs to stick to just animation.

So much for that.

Terrible idea all around because you know for a fact that Disney won't leave well enough alone. Just take a look at what happens when they do find success...take Aladdin for example, great movie, catchy songs, great animation and voice actors, it did well in the box office and in sales and rentals. Then take a look at Aladdin 2...pretty much the exact opposite of the original formula.

You can look through their entire catalog of classics and in the last few years they have been dredging them for "part 2" movies with the worst layout a studio could imagine.

I still think you guys are over-analyzing. I really don't think anything is going to change dramatically. You just have to think about things from a business prospective.

For the record, when Disney acquired Miramax, they still released movies such as Trainspotting and Pulp Fiction.

Not always but even still it degrades the work that came before it and casts a poor light on the studio producing it.
