well for starters
when he was in his late thirties he crashed a car off a bridge, the "mistress" in the passenger seat drowned to death and he skipped didnt report it to the police until 8 hours later ... got a slap on the wrists
he has some shady history with the IRA in ireland and supporting them. personally i'm not sure if he actually did or not but the majority of britian is not a fan of ted kennedy for that fact alone
and then there is the fact he's a liberal fuck who has no concern about anything but his own interests
and now just this week prior to his death he wanted the law requiring a special election revoked so the governor could put somebody in place so that democrats wouldnt lose a seat possibly in election. mind you this is a law he and the other state dems enacted just recently in 2004 because kerry was running for president and the state had a republican governor and they were worried if kerry won they would lose a democratic seat so they made it a law you had to have a special election

and and you cant forget the whole case where his nephew was accused of raping that girl and the kennedy family went ahead and start smearing the girl in the media and they walked away from it clean
or how about how kennedy got busted cheating at harvard simply so he could keep playing football, got kicked out only to be let back in a year and a half later
or how about how thanks to his dad he got a cushy honor guard job in paris instead of having to go to korea ... and the dems liked to bash bush for his supposed preferential treatment
you really could go on and on, yet people still want to consider him a great man
