I have been wishing for a PS3 slim for years...couldn't wait any longer so I bit the bullet and picked up an 80GB back in Feb. I think I paid ~$320ish so I'm not complaining.

NWT, Yukon, Alberta, don't have sales taxes, so it would just be 5% for the GST. So that's pretty cheap.

Glad I didn't overpay when I got my 80GB model for $299 ($399 + free $100 gift card) last November. h:

I don't mind having the larger, glossy PS3 since it matches my TV anyway. I just wish it didn't get so hot. I made the mistake of closing the door on my entertainment center one time and the fans were running like crazy to keep it cool. :run:

Get a New PS3 for $199

For those of you willing to get a new card to save $100:
http://www.us.playstation.com/PSN/Ev...ard/index.html

Or if you are REALLY daring...you can get a brand new PS3 for $0.99.
100$ cashback when you buy a PS3 from Sony, another 100$ cashback when you spend 1500$ in the next 3 months, another 100$ cashback when you spend 1500$ in the next 3 months.
Just use your card to pay mortgage, groceries etc that you would regularly pay off each month or pay with cash/debit,

Then use your points from the purchases for a new controller for free

I just think the older PS3 looks like ass.

Supposedly the new slim version runs cooler. I think I might sell mine and pick up the slim.

Yeah, I'll probably sell mine with a 250gb hd and then pick up the new one.

one of those testing groups that takes stuff apart also tested the energy consumption of the slim vs the older one, its actually more like 50% less energy based on their findings. I got mine about 6 months ago, I kind of wish I could have the slim due to the power usage, but I like the looks of the one I've got.
