The Goods
Not sure if anybody heard of this movie... but i saw it and it was.. meh.
anyway.. saw it on sat night, instead of district 9 since line ups were so long :exnbp: ... which was mistake #1 with this movie... who in their right mind would release a movie the same weekend as a summer blockbuster
mistake #2 - too choppy and all over the place... the laugh out loud jokes were like 20 minutes apart, and no joke kept you laughing for more than 5 seconds
except:
2 will ferrel cameos
... got me laughing for a good 2-3 minutes, twice.
mistake #3 - stale characters.. same people doing the same jokes ... the sports guys from anchorman, the chinese dude from the hangover, the guy that plays Andy from the office (also in the hangover)... they all are exactly the same as they were from the other movies ... yawn.
mistake #4 - adding a love story... why do they do this? it just slows down the tempo of the movie....
sigh.. dont see this movie.. or wait till its out on DVD

FYI, District 9 is a low budget film from a no-name director.
Hardly a "summer blockbuster" expectation.
edit: no name director.

(Entertainment Weekly) -- In what feels like a box-office weekend from "The Twilight Zone," a low-budget and critically acclaimed movie with no stars and an unknown director managed to top the charts.
"District 9," the alien action pic produced by Peter Jackson, crushed the competition grossing $37 million.
"District 9," the alien action pic produced by Peter Jackson and directed by the 29-year-old Neill Blomkamp ? who shot the film in Johannesburg, South Africa, of all places -- crushed the competition by grossing $37 million, according to early estimates.
Audiences clearly enjoyed what they saw too: "District 9" has already soared to No. 78 on IMDb's top 250 movies list, although it'll obviously drop some as the initial euphoria wears off.
