Teachers were considered like our second parents. Its like now saying my job is my second home since I [ perhaps we] spend a lot of time there.

I dont think a teacher should body slam or put you in a head lock while ramming your head into the sink but, if your disrupting a class I dont see a problem with a kid walking into the teachers fist face first.

I had a teacher in High School that used a 1" dowel to smack you if you were disruptive...usually only took once to stop being an ass...although some of my classmates needed several over the course of a school year. And guess what...no parents complained, most figured if their kid got smacked they deserved it.

uhh yea theres a major problem with promoting a violence first environment for children

children learn by example, if children are taught that just anyone can punch them for acting up then its bound to teach them that its ok for them to do that to anyone they are in a position of authority over.

spanking is one thing, rapping a kid with a ruler on the knuckles is another but actually punching or smacking with force like that? thats just unnecessary.

the reason we dont beat our children in school these days is because we are smarter than we used to be and have learned better ways.

yes, and if children act up with out being disciplined its only going to be instilled in their minds that their actions are ok.

If that kid in the vid cant control himself in class, more than likely he has retarded parents that dont give a shit about how their child acts.

I didnt seriously mean to punch students. Thats why I put the rolleyes.

if you believe we've evolved to be smarter and better parents im sure we can apply that to certain people.
Until then, no discipline = child/kid will do as he pleases and thinks its ok since they arent punished for it.
I just know at the end or very near they'll be under the states control

Absolutely!! Even an idiot can see that the one and ONLY reason kids are messed up is because those who are over him/her failed to teach them right and wrong, and really teach it, not just suggest it.

Humans aren't born with knowing how to act so it's on the parents, teachers or anyone else in a position of authority over them to ensure that they don't go down the wrong path. It's actually that simple.

Anyone but me lay a finger on my kids and that fucker is going down.

You can yell and scream all you want but you touch my kid like that and we are going toe to toe no matter what your role in life may be.

noone but a parent ever belongs laying their hand on a child. it's not up to a teacher or an administrator to decide that someones child should be physically punished. thats the decision of a parent and a parent alone. a teachers role is to teach my child, not to discipline them. if they need to be disciplined i'll handle that my way.

a lot of kids don't have discipline these days. when i ran the kung fu school 99% of the parents brought their kids in for discipline. and more then half of them couldn't take it. I am hard on the kids but I am not unreasonable. some kids don't like being told what to do or listen and their parents back them up. those were the most frustrating cases. some kids were so bad i had to tell the parents they needed to get them some other kind of help. some kids just misbehaved for attention.

i had this one kid who would not listen period. he would do a drill then raise his hand, ask questions then run around. thank god for assistants. lost a couple students cause the parents were like "you aren't paying enough attention to my kid and -insert name- is a distraction". so finally one day i got sick and tired of battling this kid i stuck him in the corner in a horse stance. kid cried (made me feel kinda good i finally broke him) but the parents were like oh you didn't do anything wrong! i was like what? the kid doesn't listen, follow instructions and i finally broke him and you are going to pamper him?
