Default homeowner crew, lawn mower question

i'll be looking at cutting 2.4 acres.

is the Zero turn really worth the price difference?

we're talking 1-1.5k difference between virtually the same specs

It's my understanding that the Hustlers are "better" but we're talking about $1500 when you look at the 42" Cub Cadet vs the 42" ZT Hustler.

Cub Cadet® 42 in. 19 HP* CC LTX 1040 Lawn Tractor ($1500)

Cub Cadet® 50 in. 24 HP* CC LTX 1050VT ($2000)

Hustler Sport 42 in 17.5 HP ($3000)

Cub Cadet® 50 in. 24 HP* CC RZT 50VT ($3000)

My lawn is just a small patch of grass compared to yours. I have no constructive advice.

it seems like 0 turn saves you time once you get used to it but if you have time then save the monies?

when i lived with the parents i had 4 acres to mow weekly and i used a bolens older than me. its all a matter of time like stated and personally i dont see it as saving THAT much time to be worth the additional money, not considering i enjoy mowing the yard

Use the zero turn to make your yard look like baseball field's grass

That is a valid point.

Mowing is pretty relaxing and obviously I'm doing it for myself/family and won't be doing it commercially so time is not that much of a factor.

i can afford it, otherwise i wouldn't be looking at them but obviously there is some question as to whether the $1500 difference could be better spent elsewhere.
