Anyone live in Utah?
I'm from Utah, and I love it, but then again I'm mormon too. It depends a lot on where in utah the job is, If it is in Salt lake or round abouts, sure there are lots of mormons, but I believe utah is one of the fastest growing states, and almost all of those new people, like you are not mormon, so you wouldn't be the only one. Utah county on the other hand, is pretty much all mormons.
I love the scenery and how much there is to do outdoorsy(if you move here you are pretty much required to ski and/or snowboard). But I think if you move there already hating it cause a lot of your neighbors and coworkers are 'morons' you will hate it for sure. Just a thought.

haha, that is probably pretty true. But Utah is also one of the states hit least by the recession. There are a lot of new people moving here to work, do you think he was the only person offered a job in Utah?
The unemployment rate doesn't reflect it, no, but Utah has suffered as well.

I lived in SLC for about a year and really enjoyed it. Yeah the drinking laws are a bit outdated but there's more to life than drinking.
Depending on the job offer I would definitley consider moving back, but I like the outdoors and also would make good use of Moab.

Haha, I assume you are talking about the mormon missionaries knocking on your door. It's not a job, and it won't happen to you in Utah, they assume everyone there is already a member. Unless a member you know refers them to you, which might happen. We aren't all the types of mormons who think if you aren't a mormon you should be, so we will shove it down your throat. But there are plenty like that.
The job is actually in Provo, but I'd live in SLC as suggested by my would be boss.
I've talked to some people, and they said coming from Baltimore, life is a lot slower and there are tons of Mormons. And if I can deal with them, it shouldn't be too bad.
I def love the outdoors. I moutain bike and used to ski every year in Colorado when my brother lived in Breck. So I don't see myself being bored or too lonely.
Also, I don't plan on being there too long, it would just be a "starting newspaper."
Alas, I'm not familuar with laws and drinking, L T. Wanna fill me in? I do know beers can't be so many percenatge or something, but I have buddy in SLC that brews his own.
