Default whats the right term?

I have a rattle from the strut area of my 01 EX. Someone said there's a plate that just needs to be replaced, not the whole strut. Does that sound right and if so what's the plate they are talking about?

Cou'd be a bad ball joint in the upper control arm or just a loose strut. Why not giver he a good shake.

Could also be a bad endlink.

My 93 Integra does the same thing. Same rattle, shake noise. Sounds like something is loose. A creeking.

Could it be from the strut mount? That sounds more like what they said. They said it should be less than $40 for the part.

Could be a shock mount/bad upper shock mount bushing in the 93. (causes excessive play and slop of the upper strut (piston) bolts.

Could the car drive otherwise normally with just that rattle/creeking noise over some bumps?

Is it unlikely that the same could be on the 01 because it's newer?

try tightening the nut on the actual shock shaft. those bushings get squishy over time

The 01's issue should be different. You haven't mentioned if youve performed any work to those components before.

I just recently got the car, other than some rims... it should be all stock.

well go out there, jack up the car and grab things and start shaking them. LOL. Making noise from the strut area isn't very helpful at all.
