meh
honestly if you want reliability get john deere. and to be completely honest at 1300 bucks you arent really going to be able to get brand new and a good name. maybe look for a slightly used or bump up your price range. the cheapest john deer is like 1500 bucks roughly
another decent name is bolens, we had a bolens that my dad bought in the 80's ... thing is still running and working to this day. i dont know how good the new ones are though to be honest. theres certain aspects like whether spindles are made of aluminum or steel that you ahve to take into account when you are on rough lawns or field type terrains. given you have a nice lawn in a suburb you dont have to worry about abuse so much

I run 3 honda riding mowers, and a bush hog zero turn with a honda engine. Only 1 of the 3 hondas ended up sucking, and that was because the PTO was on a clutch system... and it was a shit system. And expensive to replace. For the money... maybe a used higher end John Deere or Kubota.

Wait untill the middle of winter, and haggle with the guy at John Deere, or Toro.
Also almost every time my mower is broken, it's some little rubber part that has been eaten by ethanol (thanks congress).
You can usually fix it for like $4.

At your income level and with ALL the land you have, I wouldn't even think of mowing it. The landscaper will be invaluable to you in terms of time and effort and convenience.

my brother helps me out so it's all good it usually takes me an 1:30 minutes to cut the lawn with a regular mower, but I have a riding one it'll be quicker. so no need to pay the mexicans anymore
