House Update v. major improvement
so i've been bustin ass hardcore since closing on the second, i work the office m-f 8-5 and then the house 5-9 and then weekends im at the house by 7am and dont get back to the apartment till around 9 or 10 pm
BUT ... the place doesnt even look the same and i'm not even done ... i wanted to share some of my work with you guys:
This is what the living room looked like morning of purchase:

And after 12 days of bustin ass:

and here's a couple upstairs shots:

the kitchen and bathroom are the only two rooms that have major work to be done ... i expect that i'll be at least sleeping in the house come wednesday which will let me have much more time to work on it not having to drive back and forth between house and apartment every day.

In the last pic looks like the floor is uneven. Does it creek a lot when walking on it?
Its amazing how paint and a nice clean up can yield. I hope you low balled them due to the "condition of the home"
im sure that'll knock off a few thousand bucks!

Nice work bro!!! Seems simple enough painting and refinishing the floors, but it's CRAZY laborious when you actually do it. no color on the walls? You should change those light fixtures while youre at it. You can get nice replacement ones for maybe 20 bucks each. =)
Keep up the great work and looking forward to more pics.

the living room has some bulging, but nothing out of the ordinary for a house thats almost 90 years old
h:showed the images to a family friend thats a big realtor back home ... said based on these images, when finished with trim and everything he wouldnt put that house on the market for anything under 50k and thats bare minimum current rock bottom market ... still less than 24k invested

as for color, i did white for now just so i can get moved in as i am on a time schedule. the kitchen though will get color asap.
the lights upstairs ... yea, already replaced two of the four with new cans and i have two more cans in the basement just waiting to finish floors and trim before i put them in. wiring lights is a piece of cake.
lol ... yea people seem to think painting / floors is easy. its a bitch. this is the 3rd house we have done floors in (my parents first house and their current one) and it was still a major 2 day bitch. painting took a whole weekend too even with an airless. people just dont get it
