But good point about Israel, Dave. I didn't think about that. Some martyr gets their finger on that button, and they're going to blow Israel to shit, and not mind when Israel counters with the ones they don't have. :hsugh:

There's a school of thought that says Ahmedinejad is just saying what the mullahs want to hear -- that in a practical sense, he knows that any violence toward Israel is to assure Iran's destruction.

I for one don't believe that argument for a second.

When Stephanopoulos had a sit-down interview with Ahmedinejad a couple months ago, Ahmedinejad launched into a prolonged anti-Zionist argument whenever he could manage to squirm out of Stephanopoulos' line of questioning.

Regardless of our own position on Gaza and the West Bank settlements, or on the Israeli PM's recent behavior towards the Palestinian settlements, Ahmedinejad's responses speak clearly of his real intent towards Israel.

Since Iran already has a missile platform capable of strinking Tel Aviv, the stakes are too high to be complacent.

If Iran wants a peaceful nuclear program, they can dismantle their centrifuges, stop building breeder reactors and convert to U235 under the supervision of the IAEA.

I dont think Ahmedinejad would use nuclear weapons on Israel. He wouldn't sacrafice his entire country to get rid of Israel. What it would do is somewhat of a bargainning tool. For the moment Israel does whatever it wants.

From the interviews i've read and what i know about Ahmedinejad he's very intelligent... you guys make him sound crazy like Kim Jong II but he's far from that IMO.

Not all of Iran is nuts... hell probably not even half. Ahmedinejad is the G.W. Bush of Iran and will be gone come presidential elections which are coming up in like a month. I do agree that if they want power plants there are tons of options available other than weapons-grade uranium.

He has been repeatedly quoted as saying the holocaust was a myth. He has also said there isn't a single homosexual Iranian, a country of 250 million people. He has said that Israel should be "wiped off the map". He has continually denigrated both christianity and judaism, claiming they are "deviations from the right path, dollars have been devoted to the propagation of these deviations. There are also false claims that these [religions] will save mankind. But Islam is the only religion that [can] save mankind".

I'm sure you can understand why this man is seen as a lunatic in the eyes of many.

it's not my opinion.

read this and tell me how that wouldn't apply to north korea

Obama added that there is a danger "when the United States, or any country, thinks that we can simply impose these values on another country with a different history and a different culture."

yeah I dig from the western point of view. The holocaust thing he wanted more research done, homo thing I doubt that their are many open homosexuals in Iran and Israel... well to be honest Israel keeps invading, settling, taking over land that isisn't theirs and no one is doing anything about it.

I dont agree with everything he says... but i believe in equality in right and development. I dont beleive in holding back other culture and countries so that the western civ. can stay on top.

He didn't say open homosexuals. He said there aren't any in Iran, in that homosexuality doesn't exist within his borders.

Regardless, you're being contradictory in that you're saying you believe in equality...well, within his borders equality is about the last thing you'll find.
