Default Mountain Bike Croo v. thoughts

I think it's time to finally upgrade ... my gary fisher is about 10 years old and just plain wearing down. i really wanna get back in to riding alot again this summer and looking for something a lil newer.

i want to stick with fisher's, i've rode quite a few of them and plenty of the family ride them. i know they good bikes. i dont need any of the fancy dual suspension $2k crap ... just old skool hardtail, i dont ride no extreme terrain

looking at the gary fisher tarpon ... bout the right price range of $500

http://www.fisherbikes.com/bike/model/tarpon

thoughts? can you sway me to try a specialized or trek?

Anything wrong with your Fisher frame?

Upgrade the components.

its OLD

needs new everything lol

by the time i was all said and done between parts and time invested id be just as good off buying something new and updated

its been upgraded once before. it was my uncles and when he got his new one he gave me his

i was gonna buy a new 9mm but been thinking lots and wanting to ride again and get back in shape and i think id get much more use out of a $500 bike than a $500 gun

I would say specialized, but they have gotten a huge head and increased the price of their bikes. A local bike shop no longer sells Specialized because of their ego.

At that price range...you are just buying the components...and those are eww components All frames in that range are very similar...as long as you are comfortable on the bike...the frame is good to go

i dont ride enough to justify a bike over $1000

nor is the terrain that extreme that i need something that expensive
