Default The dramalama pays me a visit (or, should I see Billy Joel & Elton John tonite?)

My gf a while back organized a girls' night out to see the Billy Joel & Elton John concert with 5 of her friends. The concert is tonight.

One of the friends going is also my roommate's soon-to-be ex-gf. They maybe sorta kinda broke up yesterday. My gf had originally set them up.

One of the other friends got sick and can't go to the concert, and my gf couldn't find anyone else available to buy the sick friend's ticket, so she invited me. Partly to help her friend sell the ticket, and partly because she wants me to experience the show.

While it would be a cool show, I am hesitant to go for a few reasons:

1. The ticket was $110.
2. It's a girls' night.
3. Maybe I should be supportive of my roommate.
4. Maybe I should avoid reminding the ex-gf of my roommate.

I already talked to my roommate some today, and he doesn't seem too upset about the breakup. Kinda saw it coming and she was stressing him out.

So.......in my shoes, would you go to the concert?

That's why they call it the blues. o:

I probably wouldn't go. I'd let the girls get one good night out, and let the ex talk the last bit of shit (if need be) without inside guy being there.

But you didn't start the fire, so there should be no reason you don't go. o:

heres my list of reasons for saying no:

1. its a gay concert.
2. its a girls night out.
3. violation of mancode to hang out with homie's exgf
4. who gives a fuck about reminding the exgf? see #3.
5. its a gay concert.

I'd rather not go see a straight douche singing with a gay douche for $110.

Well, problem solved itself.

On my way home from work I had told my gf that I was leaning towards no, and she somewhat understood, but I told her I'd give a final answer about an hour before the show.

The girl who got sick said she didn't need to recoup the whole face value cost of the ticket.

My gf invited one of her friends who is still a student who otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford the show. That friend was uber stoked to join in.

I called my gf to say I didn't think it was a good idea, she told me about the student friend. Non issue. Basically the only source of the drama was the roomie's ex.

I like my gf.
