So I'm shopping for mortgages right now and I never knew how much closing costs could be h:...

So how much did everybody pay for closing costs, lenders fees, etc?

The seller paid our closing cost, however, it was added to the back end of our mortgage so Ill be paying for it technically.

in this market, I would have the seller cover the closing costs.

make the seller pay, although if you go that route you have less negotiation room on the buying side. it evens out for the most part. no one is going to come $X off the price AND pay $X worth of closing. also you can try to get them to negotiate the rate with the realtor if they're using one. or so i've heard.

You mean $3500?

The people that are buying my house now the closing costs are almost 5 grand, but they told me to up the price by that much so they will technically be financing them.

On my new loan the closing costs are about $1800.

Around here $350 is just for appraisal alone

Neither, building my own. The one I wanted with the 5 acres went under contract the same day I went to make an offer on it.

This is the house we are building, with some modifications.

:hi5:

We are going to be building soon, hopefully.

We were told by a few people that no one around here is doing construction loans and we thought we'd have to buy a house to live in for a few years but turns out we know the President of the Board of Directors at a local bank who we happen to have a car loan through. She is supposed to be helping us out.
