This is why i love to read
So I am big time reader, I have to have a book on hand, it help keeps me sane when im at work and at the end of a long day. My most recent book is the sequel to Eragon, Eldest. Now this book has been fantastic and and I have been reading it non stop and now I read a simple exchange between two of the characters in the book and find my self thrilled, because it manages to phrase my exact feelings on a subject in such a way that it mirrors all my beliefs. So basicly, the two characters are talking about religion, one asking what the other belives, the character states that he doesnt "believe" in anything, but instead to follow the reality, for which there is proof and has been proven, the other character then responds with
" It seems a cold world without something...more"
to that the other character answers in what i feel to be the best reflection of my own feelings on religion
"On the contrary, it is a better world. A place where we are responsible for our own actions, where we can be kind to one another because we want to and because it is the right thing to do instead of being frightened into behaving by the threat of divine punishment. I wont tell you what to believe, It is far better to be taught to think critically and then be allowed to make your decisions than to have someone else's notions thrust upon you"
I know most of your will read this and just make some silly comment or whatever but i know there are some people on here that may apreciate how cool it is to read something that puts into words something that is otherwise very hard to discuss.

I am going to be honest here about Eragon...I tried reading it because I like light mythology/magic books but Eragon felt as though Harry Potter and LOTR raped each other for this cheesy (almost plagiaristic at times) Series. I got halfway through the first book and tossed it.
