New wheels for the Mazdaspeed6
Got my summer wheels & tires on the car. Nice to have some actual grip instead of Blizzaks. Yes it's got 4x4 wheel gap, which I intend to do something about at some point, but I've got other $$$ priorities coming up here soon so it'll have to wait for the time being.
These were at a local self-storage place because people always seem to take pictures of their cars at loading docks or storage units.

Then I went out for a drive on some proper twisty roads. Some nice scenery. Eff you stupid California happy cows!!!

Wheels are Kazera KZ-L 18x8" and tires are Sumitomo HTR Z III 235/40-18.

what the heck kinda wheels are those? o_O
as long as u like em, dont really matter i guess.
but i think wheels that have a big(ger) lip because the spokes go inward before connecting to the barrel is cheating

Yeah I admit, it's less than ideal way to create a lip. Honestly big lips weren't really my goal. Allow me to take you through my thought process.
The stock tire size is 215/45-18. The most common replacement is 225/45-18, but the car responds nicely to 235/40-18. Also in the case of the HTR Z III's 235/40 was cheaper than 225/45. More grip + less money = I'm sold.
The measuring rim width for the 235/40-18 tires is 8". The ideal offset for an 18x8" wheel with 235/40 tire on an MS6 is +50, which other than being stock on the RX-8, is rare.
These are the right offset and reasonably light weight. A less-wacky lip is also available but these were on clearance. So all else aside from the lip being equal I went for the cheaper option.
I do kinda like how they look. A drop should clean things up but like I mentioned, other things have to come first before more car parts.
