F**king CRV rotors!!!
See those 2 little screws with the yellow lines over them? Who would have thought that those 2 screws would lead to 4 hours of my time down the drain. I decided to change the rotors on Mel's CRV myself since it wouldn't pass inspection without new ones and Midas wanted like $400 to change them. So I get the wheel and caliper off no problem. All that is left is these 2 damn screws. No problem right? WRONG! These little shits were in there so f'ing tight, I used an impact screw driver to get them out and it ended up breaking the bit. And those bits are built to take the impact too. I ended up drilling them and using a screw extractor and even that ended up ripping the head right off of them. Finally I got so fed up, I just drilled them out completely into steel dust (destroying the threading of the screw hole in the process).
How pissed was I when I discovered that the screws SERVE NO PURPOSE AFTER ASSEMBLY OF THE VEHICLE! Turns out they are only put there to hold the rotor in place when it is on the assembly line. The lug nuts for the wheel hold the rotor very firmly in place. Damn you Honda... Damn you to hell...
/rant
In the end, I did end up getting the new rotors on. They slipped on and tightened with no issues
Cliffs: Honda put two screws in their CRV rotors that are impossible to take out and don't need to be there but you can't remove the rotor without removing them.

I was tempted to give up, but I can think of plenty of other things to spend that $300 on

Oh nevermind I thought it was an item that didn't have to be removed to get the disc off. h:
I can't remember messing with them on the Accord or any of the Civs I have owned or worked on:dunno:

LOL.. you shouldve asked. It only takes a minute. Use a big enough drill bit and just drill the heads off the screws. They're on there to make the factory assembly easier.
