i will see this movie but it lookes like they kinda f the history a bit? i mean the enterprise was suppossed to be assembled in space. as a star trek fan who has seen all of tng, voyager, enterprise, some of ds9 and msot of the old series and cartoon i am conflicted.

TOS - couldn't get into it because I got into TNG first
TNG - great continuation of Gene Roddenberry's ideal future
DS9 - started good, lulled in the middle seasons, ended with lots of cool space battles but the ending seemed sooooooo abrupt and rushed
VOY - was really good until the Borg became an integral part of the story
ENT - I really, really enjoy this series...season 2 was by far the best!

I really enjoyed the movies, except I wasn't pleased with V, Insurrection, and Nemesis.

JJ Abrams isn't about following the Star Trek cannon...he's taking the story and putting a certain twist to it that will revive the idea of Star Trek. The franchise is old and running out, this could give it a push in another direction to give new life.
