Default Is my tire worthless now?

Apparently I had a flat tire and was driving for a lil bit. I didnt notice till I parked. So I went to get it patched and the guy told me my tire is worthless and I needed a new one. I dont doubt him...but he also worked at a tire shop. Regardless, I have an extra tire already...but I dont want to toss a good tire.

Here is what I find on the inside. You can see the outer sidewall also showed some wear by the dark band.

Thanks

When you run on a flat tire long enough, the side wall eats itself where it was creased. Usually theres tire "shavings" inside the tire if its bad enough. With a worn out sidewall the tire is prone to a blow out. Most tire shops will turn you away for liability reasons and take advantage of it and try and sell you another.

use rice to patch up the inside, then you'll be fine.

That was my second suggestion. Rice is good for a million other purposes. I used sticky white rice instead of RTV when I did my valve cover gaskets.

Like bending a coathanger back & forth, so suffers the sidewalls of a flat tire. I've seen worse, but tire dust = bad joo joo. It's toast.
