so what does the dslr crew think about this camera?

i've always wanted a dslr, but i never wanted to spend the money on one. i've never used one either, good beginner camera for the price?

It was Pentax's base-model DSLR in 2006.

Pretty basic, 6 megapixel compact body. If you want a cheap entry in to a DSLR you can always do this, buy good lenses to go with it, and then buy a nicer body at some point down the road.

so about 2-3 yrs later it only drops to that price? :sad:

it's a very basic dslr kit guys,
not canon nor nikon
but with the right education, it'll take better pics than most p&s cameras in that price range.
