you donate, she gets the tax deduction cuz its in her name not yours
I donated to charity in my family's names, but I still get the tax deduction. When you make donations in honor of someone, as long as you have your receipt, you still get your deduction. Unless these people are going online pretending to be Sarah Palin, and using her CC, I don't see how she could get a tax deduction out of it.

:edit: the funny thing is he actually said, "Salvation army is ok, but I'm not really cool with their whole 'you have to be a christian' thing." I know they have some religious principles, but since when has the salvation army refused aide to non-christians :crazy: But whatever, my bro's wishes... he tends to over-think things
