Not to worry though, diabetes is manageable- the hard part is getting insurance to cover the easier treatments; though I guess with the newer pens even the direct injections are fairly easy... and you don't look like you're shooting up whenever you have to well... shoot up.

Minimed pumps are the shit still though. They even have ones that track glucose levels now- though I'd suggest to still test regularly as they can be almost 30 minutes behind actual levels.

ALSO there has been a big push for diabetes cures in recent years, there is even a few procedures already being pioneered that say that they can effectively cure type II diabetes (something about shortening the intestines?)- so theres some hope on the horizon for people suffering
Oral meds and lifestyle modification is the first line of therapy for Type II, no need to jump straight to the injections, and plus he doesn't have diabetes yet.
