So I was surfing Craigslist...
And I come across a guy selling a 1995 Porsche 911 Cabriolet for $41. I figure this is a typo of some sort. The car is only worth about $20,000 so $41,000 sounds like way too much. And besides that he put $41. So I decide to mess with the guy. I send him.
"Hi, I am interested in purchasing the 1995 Porsche 911 Cabriolet for $41. How many miles does it have?"
He responds:
"it has 65k miles and it is a sweet car " (and he gives me his office phone number)
I say:
"Peter,
If you don't mind me asking why are you selling this car for $41. I am happy to buy it at that price but obviously it makes one curious."
He Says:
"i am selling the car because i don't have time to drive often enough. but my wife is very upset about selling it , she loves it!!"
So I say:
"Peter,
If you have some pictures of the car please send them to me. Also, you have the title of the car? Are there any liens on the vehicle? You are the only owner? The car starts and runs fine? Are you the first owner of the car? Has it ever been in an accident, had flood damage, engine replacement, etc? All the VIN's on the car match?
If you have the title, there are no liens, you are the only owner, the car starts and runs fine, it has never had any significant damage, and all the VIN's match I will purchase the car for $41 (Forty One Dollars and No Cents)"
What gives?
right now I am just waiting for his response to the last email.

Well next he will tell you that he is out country on business and can only email a few photos. And ask for the money via western union. Also where in Prince Edward Island ya at? I'm from Borden... never thought I'd see another Islander on here.

I'll do the exchange at a local Subaru dealership so they can check it over (I know some guys there). I doubt the dude will rob me at a dealership :chuckles:
