Default Just found out this lovely piece of info today...

I go to see my advisor at school to plan out the fall semester.

I have to take a summer class (no big deal) and then its nothing but business courses til i graduate.

Well she tells me that they changed the name of my program from B.S. in Administration to B.S. in General Business!!!! WTF is that shit.

Positive side is that I can switch away into any other business program..I.e, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, and not have to take any extra courses.

I just think that General business is just too fucking generic, seeing as I already go to a school 1 level below actual IU.

Should I switch my concentration or just stick it out?

Stick it out and claim what you originally went for because thats the truth. Or drop the word "general."

I'm heading for management, I was already offered a branch manager position but I want to finish school. But I don't like the phrase "General Business", so im thinking of switching my major to something else, or maybe trying to pull a dual major in this and Finance

I'd stick it out. As long as they don't make you take more shit under the "new name", I think it's all gravy for you. I was grandfathered into an older program that requires about 12 less units than the current system. I started CSUN in '96 but dropped out and came back to finish recently.

usually when you enter the program the rules and regs. from when you entered apply, so if they change anything after you entered then it doesnt affect you

i got out of 20+ credits for a bs in phl this way since i enrolled the year before they reconfigured the program

i would argue them about it, i imagine your school has similar rules

would you take the same classes, and everything would be exactly the same other than the title?
