hmmm then your apps possibility are fairly limited.

If you do upgrade to 2.0 or 2.2 you'll have acess to the app store. The App store has tonnes of cool apps. Some free other not. The main ones i use are:

-wifi discover : turns my iphone as a wireless storage device
-wikiamo : wikipedia but formated for the iphone

biteSMS: way cheaper internationnal SMS and great sms interface

Not really very much as far as actual apps but the thing is for entertainment and not for any actual work except secondary storage of contact info.
