Default Blackberry krew v. halp

My dad is looking into getting a 8310 or 8320 to replace his aging Blackjack. AT&T network.

He's weary of switching, as the blackjack syncs really well with everything. He's curious about the syncing between a RIM device and outlook 2003 (contacts, calendar) on a 64-bit Vista laptop.

does this work pretty seamlessly? I know about the devices, not their syncing capabilities.

right through blackberry's desktop manager you have the option of switching everything over from either a blackberry or another device
