Default iPod halp

Hm need some help

Recently I had asked about how to get my songs from my old, crapped out ipod onto my computer. Someone had suggested idump.

I have yet to download it, and was wondering if it was even worth it. The problem seems to be that when I connect my ipod to my computer itunes doesnt even read that its hooked up, so Im not so sure idump would even work pulling songs from the pod to the computer.

Do you think it would still work?? or are my songs lost for good.

And. Another tech questions.

Frostwire....

whats the scoop?? anyone use it. Apparently its just like limewire except no add-ons..and no spyware

I have a friend who uses Frostwire and supposedly has no problems on his PC....at least none that he knows about :dunno:

As for the ipod, you didn't have your music saved to the itunes program on your actual PC? I've never heard of iDump....

Thats what I heard too

my mom, my bf's mother, and my best friend had limewire on their computers and all of their computers got messed up because of it, so I refuse to put it on my new laptop.

Well when I got my ipod 4 years ago the computer at home I was using was broken, so I used another family members computer, then I used my moms laptop. So I have all my songs from my ipod on two different itunes on two different computers. and Im not sure what all is still on the itunes on either of the computers.

There is also a program called CopyPod and a bunch of others that will let you do this. You should be able to do it as long as your computer knows that the iPod is connected. Otherwise, consider it bricked.

the older ones won't charge via USB, that is if it originally came with firewire (sub-3G, and i think early 4th gen's) so if thats the case then i'd assume you just need to charge it.

AFTER you do that and it's connected and working all you have to do is open up explorer and copy the music folder to your computer... upon adding that folder to your library itunes will do the rest (sorting and such)

ohhh trust

that when ive had problems with it before I just let it charge for a full day and it was fine. did that this time...didnt work.

When I try to turn it on..a file icon with an ! over it pops up. I even tried charging it the other week to see if it would now work..nothing. Same icon. Same crap.

I think I have a corrupted song on it.

After I put TI's "Whatever You like" on there it started being funny.

DAMN YOU TI! DAMN YOU!!!

Could those mp3 player things made for ipods for your car that use the radio be the problem too??

It started doing this after both of those events...putting that damn song on there...and using that hookup device

I'd try to reset it first, flip the hold switch Off-On-Off hold select and the menu button together until it resets.

I'd also try tossing it in the freezer, works for ordinary hard drives, so I can see it working for an iPod too
