Where are all the HAN runners?
I am going to start running. My goal is to run a half marathon. I need to set myself a training schedule
And maybe some tips from someone who have done the same

i don't run buy i helped my friend set a schedule and training regiment to help him rum a full marathon the first time out. previously the furthest distance he ran was 3miles. we can discuss if you like, i know a lot of the do's and the don'ts

Wilma. I've run a couple halfs and an handful of 15k and 9ks. Best schedule for you is the hal higdon half marathon training schedule. Just google it. Make sure you follow it pretty closely, especially the long runs. I was doing the full marathon training program (training for the half) and even managed to keep my running up when I had to go to NY for my grandfather's funeral.
I ran 15 miles in central park that day.

A few years back I bet my mom I could beat her int he Georgetown-Idaho Springs half marathon. I lost

I'd get shoes fitted at a store that can analyze your gate. If there's anything weird about your form, you can seriously fack up your joints. Other than that, I just took it easy and only increase distance in small increments. I'd also work in a hill run once a week. Doing other physical activities (weights, biking, swimming, etc) will also help keep your body going on days off from running.
These days I only run twice a week about 4 miles (8 total).
