I use the bar with the foot rest. My tootsies loose circulation if I don't hike and/or loosen my bindings during lift rides. If the bar doesn't have a foot rest, I don't use it, but I've never felt endagered by no bar... hell, most of my life they didn't have bars. :dunno:

i use the bar, when they have them h:

our tj maxx had a holden jacket that was pretty nice, but still $150+
they also had a marmot softshell for $129 with a big stain on the back on clearance, wish i had the money for that
