If you leave a balance in your PayPal account, yes.

If you have a large incoming payment, transfer it to your bank account asap. If the buyer contests the purchase, your account is locked. PayPal can remove money from your online account, but they have no access to your personal bank account.

i heard they can still reverse transfers to your bank account. the only way would be to use an 2nd account as a buffer. ie transfer money from paypal to bank account #1, then launder into account #2.

if paypal later discovers that you received monies from a hacked or fraudulent account, they WILL take the money back out. paypal is NOT a bank and does not play by bank rules.

Only if they are telling you that you have a problem with your nonexistent paypal account.
