Network Security Peoples: Need help

Im trying to locate someones IP address via AIM.

Is there a program out there that can capture their IP address vs not using that direct connection thing?

The furtherist I can trace it would be to AOL's proxy but that doesnt help.

I usually use direct connect, not sure if it's possible the other way

you can do nbtstat when you direct connect but other than that i dunno

nope, direct connect or fail.

Not much good getting their IP would do anyway.

What is your final goal here? Are you trying to get their IP address without them knowing or get it so that you can willingly connect and help them out?
