Being battery powered and all, I doubt the suction is adequate to get anything beyond the loosest of surface dirt up. At least it has a brush so I suppose if it went over the same spot a dozen times it could do a decent job.

None of my rooms downstairs are really closed off so I would probably have to keep an eye on it, otherwise it'd go into the kitchen and foyer and stuff.

I like my Dyson.

does it "detect" dirt or does it like go around all over the place all the time?

yeah i was just hinking about getting one for my parents. They are getting a bit old and the cleaning lady only comes like every 2 weeks. It's pretty much all hardwood floor so i'm thinking it could do the job :dunno:

we had one of the first models. it worked OK, but it doesn't replace normal vacuuming IMO. I would say its best for maintaining a clean appearance, more so than replacing a good vacuum every so often.
