We had to reserve the chapel and venue about a year to a year and a half in advance. The actual planning, about a year.

 

We got engaged Dec.06 and married May08.....TONS of time to plan.

1st thing to do: book ceremony & reception location, get the future wifey to find her dress (after ordering it can take 4-8 months to arrive at the shop and you still need to leave time for alterations). The photographer is good to book early so you can get a GOOD one within your budget. Other than that, the little things can wait (flowers, food, favors, etc.)

 

I'm just asking, my fiancee is probably going to do everything

 

Yeah.. Mar did 90% of it. All I did was give final approval and do the actual interviews, contracts and payments for our vendors.

the morning of.

 

engaged in september, married in february. not much time. and i did most of it, but we went to a place where the did almost everything, so it was easy.

 

Year, year and half.
