Default should I jump on this GH deal?

Taken from SD.net:

Red Octane has Guitar Hero World Tour 2-player Wireless Bundles for all modern consoles on sale using coupon GHWT2P with free shipping. Thanks mortyg88

Available versions

* Xbox 360 version $80
* PS3 version $80
* Wii version $80
* PS2 version $65

http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/1614...Wii-80--PS2-65

I don't currently own any of the Guitar Hero or Rock Band games. It seems like a really good deal. Should I wait until the whole World Tour set (w/ drums and mic) is on sale...?

that's a pretty solid deal considering you get 2 guitars.

if you were to buy that in-store, you'd pay $20 more, for less.

You'll be waiting for a while for a bandkit to get discounted. If you just want the guitar then i say go for it, but if you want the dums to, i suggest looking into the price of a drumset by itself and seeing what you get.

I heard it's the "older style" guitars, from GH3 I think. What's the difference? Is that a deal breaker?

I don't think you can get the drumkit by itself yet. That's one reason why I'm debating on this deal.

I know you can get the RB2 wireless drumset by itself, i saw it at best buy. It's all personal preference, i like the RB2 drums better.

I played Guitar Hero for the first time last week and got hooked. I played at two different relatives' houses and neither one had the whole band kit.

Are the instruments interchangeable between GH and RB? :hs:

The GH3 guitar is the best of the bunch by far.

The GH4 guitar has a slider bar on it, which screws up more people than anything else. Also, the strum bar isn't as good as the previous version.

Ok, good to know. Still debating on this. I hate buying something for myself right now but I don't want to just overpay for it later on. :hs:

Just looked it up, the new wireless drumset is 99.99. Just fork over the money for the full band kit
