i hate my life v.wastedday
today my platoon was supposed to start a 10 day field op with the unit from camp pendleton we're attached to. we get down to the armory at 730 to draw weapons and head to the vehicle ramp with our shit soon after to prep our pigs. we get the pigs loaded up and staged and are now waiting for word on when we'll be leaving for the range.
1100 rolls around and still nothing so we get cut for chow and come back at 1200. again, still nothing so we're just sitting around with our thumbs up our asses wondering wtf is going on considering we were told yesterday we'd leave no later than noon.
now everyone's pissed cause nobody's telling us anything. finally, it's 1800 and our LT finally shows up and explains the situation. apparently our sister unit from pendleton took longer than they thought to drive up here and just showed up a few hours ago. at this point it's too late for us to head out so we'll have to wait for tomorrow. and here's the best part, because we already have the vehicle's setup with all our shit in them we cant just leave them parked. so two guys will have to stand guard every hour. i got it from 2230 until 2400 tonight. awesome. im not gonna bother going to sleep and changing out of uniform.
thank you marine corps! :madr:
cliffs: showed up at 730 for 10 day field exercise. sat around all day with thumbs up our asses doing nothing. have to stand guard for an hour and a half starting at 2230. :a:
