Default the money dance

this past wknd i went to a friends wedding and the usual money dance was there. i didnt participate but afterwards i thought i had already given a substantial cash gift, why should i give more?

am i insane?

it's just a tradition, I don't think many people do it for the money

the past weddings i been to they all had money dances
filipino, hispanic, filipino and hispanic, white/korean and hispanic, slavic and korean, etc

white, asian, jewish, italian, hispanic, armenian.

when i was at a filipino wedding i just used a $5. since it was not a "cash gift" type of wedding and we got them something from their wedding registry it was ok :0

and where was the wedding u went to this past weekend at? my friend went to one too, but she said it was somewhere in studio city or something.
