A fellow S2K track enthusiast died over the weekend :wtc:
Guys I have some very bad news. Cale was severely injurred yesterday during the second time trial session at Summit Point Raceway. He's suffered many internal injuries but the most severe was a serious brain injury similar to what happened to Dale Earnhardt. Before we left the hospital last night at 2am the doctor said there was no brain activity and was recommending the removal of life support. Cale's family is there and will make the decision. His family and his girlfriend asked me to make this post to let his car buddies know what's going on.
His car went off Summit Main's turn 1, tracked to the left and struck a bare concrete wall near the skid pad entrance. No one knows what happened but most suspect some form of brake failure.
It's so tragic that something like this had to happen to Cale. My first thought was "why Cale, it should have been anyone but Cale." When I think about Cale I see that smile. That schoolboy grin with just a hint of devilishness. I can't help but smile when I think of him, even now, sitting in front of this keyboard I'm smiling. Crap, now I'm crying. We're going to miss him so much. I have a lot more to say about Cale, but this is all I can muster for now.

I believed that I only met him once at an HPDE event out at BeaveRun Motorsport Park. He was in a different class than me obviously, but I loved S2000s so I decided to chat with him a little bit. He was probably the most outgoing and approachable guy I've ever met. He had a bunch of people from S2Ki with him, all friendly people with the common love of taking their cars out to the track. He even offered to ride with me in my E36 M3 and see how I drove because he said I was constantly passing people in Group II (Intermediate Class). I wish I had time to catch a ride with him in his NASA TTC Class winning S2000
