True, though it's probably better to do it before the election, to avoid the rush. But given that there's only a day before the election, it might be too late.

Just buy lowers...you will always be able to purchase the rest of the components

also stock up on ammo since it will be the item that rises fastest in cost.

You will still be able to buy guns...just not assault weapons. It would be unconstitutional to say there will be no more weapons allowed.

True. Only the bad guys will be able to get assault rifles. Normal people will have to get better at aiming.

there are assault rifles and assault weapons

they are not the same thing

a defining feature of an assault rifle is its ability to lay down large amounts of fire through automatic or burst mode ... its a military term and no military afaik considers semi-auto weapons assault rifles since it cant lay down the required fire levels... only political groups do.

assault weapons was tagged by politicians looking to demonize certain gun features. no one has ever provided a solid description of an "assault weapon". every state/fed/local description tends to vary

the military uses the term assault weapon but its not even the same as what politicians describe as assault weapons. in the military an assault weapon is one that aids in an assault on a fortified position, something like a SMAW or even a flamethrower

i just hate the term, because it attempts to add a demonizing air to something that in operation is no different than some of the most common sporting rifles out there. hell an AR has less destructive power than many common deer rifles chambered in .30-06 or .308
