what kind of scopes do you all have?

and yeah yeah learn to shoot using iron sights first :blah: :blah:

this particular rifle doesn't have iron sights and it will be for fun/target shooting.

range that i go to doesn't have too long of a umm range. i believe 150 or 200 but I'd like something that will be good for 500 area. one day i hope to get proficient at 500 and beyond.

caliber is 308

 

budget? I've had good luck with some cheap ones but if you want to spend a few hundred Burris would be a good way to go.

 

$500 budget.

Also, what rings would you guys recommend. Will there be a huge difference in $30 rings and $200 rings

If it were me I'd go burris scope+ rings. There are some leupolds in that range but you're choices would be more limited. Not a lot of brands in that price range that I'd be willing to spend that much jack on.
