It's funny. Jeans are kinda on the same lines as Photography. Back in the day, you couldn't sell an image that was under/over exposed. The eye of the consumer just wasn't geared towards it. Today, you can take a poorly exposed image, play with it in photoshop, and make it the 'best' image taken in the event you got paid to shoot.

Jeans are the same way. Tight, skinny, beat-up, painted on and TORN jeans can be sold to any slave-of-fashion, for a good price.
